When Transferito sends your backup from your live site to the server, it doesn’t upload the whole file in one go. It splits the backup into smaller pieces, called chunks, and uploads them one at a time. This setting controls how big each of those chunks is.
It’s the upload partner to Download Chunk Size, which controls the pieces your destination site downloads.
Why chunk size matters
Servers limit how much data they’ll accept in one request, and how long a single request can run. If a chunk is too big for the server it’s being sent to, the upload can time out or be rejected, and the migration stops.
LARGER CHUNKS
Faster uploads
Fewer, bigger requests. Best when both servers have generous limits and a good connection.
SMALLER CHUNKS
More reliable uploads
More, smaller requests that stay under strict limits and recover better on slow connections.
You don’t have to change this. The default upload chunk size works for most sites. Only adjust it if uploads are failing.
Change the upload chunk size
In your WordPress dashboard, open Transferito and go to Settings.
Find Set upload chunk size and choose a size from the dropdown.
Click Update Settings at the bottom of the page to save it.

Tip: if your migration fails or stalls while your backup is uploading, choose a smaller chunk size and try again.
